“Welcome to ULS, Home of the Jr. Bows” Mural

During the fall 2024 semester Drawing and Painting students were introduced to the concept of art in public spaces and art’s ability to positively impact a community. Four seniors–Jenesis, Kevin, Winny, and Angelina–worked together to plan and create a mural in the walkway between the MPB and Castle Memorial Hall. The students wanted to leave a legacy at ULS by creating something vibrant and welcoming in a space that students frequently walk by. The mural features a mix of underwater imagery and symbols of local culture, including a Hawaiʻi license plate remixed to show ULS colors and the phrase “Welcome to ULS, Home of the Jr. Bows”.
