On April 1, 2025, ULS Student Council members and Student Body Government officers took a field trip to the State Capitol. They were invited by District 22 Representative, Andrew Takuya Garrett, who also led them on a tour of the capitol. Making this trip extra special was getting to talk story with the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Brooke Wilson. Brooke happens to be a ULS alum and was especially interested in meeting our students! She shared more about how her time at ULS helped to shape her into someone who values cooperation and connection. We couldn’t agree more!
We finished our tour with hearing Rep Garrett deliver the opening remarks for the day’s legislative session and getting introduced to the House of Representatives.
Mahalo to Rep. Garrett and everyone who took time for us today! It was an honor to visit the capitol and learn more about how the government works.
