Institute Day and Presidents’ Day Holiday – No School!

Roses are red, violets are blue, we love our amazing school! Remember, there is no school on Friday. February 14 is Institute Day and Feb. 17 is Presidents’ Day. We’re back on Tuesday, February 18. See you then!

Admissions Applications for the 2025-2026 School Year

Happy Holidays and Winter Break Schedule

Winter Break- No school from December 23, 2024 – January 6, 2025. Students first day of the spring 2025 semester is Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Homecoming 2025- January 25, 2025

2025 ULS Homecoming Week – January 21-25, 2025 Homecoming Games  – Saturday, 1/25/2025 Location: McKinley High School Gym Game 1 at 1pm Girls Varsity vs. Sacred Hearts Academy ULS Cheer Team will perform during halftime of the girls game. Game 2 at 2:30pm Boys Varsity vs. Mid Pacific Institute ULS

PANDA EXPRESS FUNDRAISER NIGHT- FRIDAY, 11/8

Please consider supporting the ULS Booster Club by participating in the Panda Express fundraiser night. All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to supporting the many programs and activities that ULS students are involved in. No School We’re on our Fall Break from Monday, Oct. 7 to Friday, Oct. 11. We’re back to class on Monday, October. 14.

National Merit Finalist – Kian Sanchez

Update- 2/10/2025 Congratulations to University Laboratory School Senior Kian Sanchez! Kian has met all the requirements to advance to Finalist standing in the National Merit® Scholarship program. All Finalists will be considered for National Merit Scholarship Awards to be offered in 2025. The National Merit Scholarship Program honors individual students 

Aloha Chiba University!

February 6, 2025- We were glad to welcome Chiba University students during their recent study aboard trip to Hawaii! Our ULS students learned about unique Japanese cultural customs from the six groups of students who presented their topics in English. Selected students in 8th and 10th grade learned about Japanese 

University of Hawai‘i West O’ahu-  Global Engagement International Program Visit

On Thursday, January 23, 2025, the University Laboratory School hosted 18 graduate students from South Korea, who are part of the University of Hawai‘i West O‘ahu’s Office of Global Engagement International Program. The visit, which included a school tour and discussion, offered valuable global learning experiences for everyone involved.  

“Welcome to ULS, Home of the Jr. Bows” Mural

During the fall 2024 semester Drawing and Painting students were introduced to the concept of art in public spaces and art’s ability to positively impact a community. Four seniors–Jenesis, Kevin, Winny, and Angelina–worked together to plan and create a mural in the walkway between the MPB and Castle Memorial Hall. The students 

Chungnam-Sookmyung University Visit

On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the University Laboratory School welcomed 20 university students from Chungnam-Sookmyung University in South Korea. They observed Social studies, English, mathematics and music classes as part of the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa’s (UHM) Hawaiʻi English Language Program (HELP).

New Year, New Roots

We welcome a new addition that’s eager to set up roots at our school — a new native Hawaiian Loulu palm tree! Students in our Green Planet Infinity Society planted the tree to help the repopulation effort for the native palms in the Pritchardia classification. The school also acquired markers
