On February 25th, 10 selected ULS seniors joined peers from Punahou and McKinley to be student demonstrators for teachers who participated in a professional development workshop entitled: “Creating High-Quality Discussions of Controversial Political Issues – A Workshop for Educators” featuring author and scholar, Dr. Diana Hess. Their session included a guided discussion about the proliferation of disinformation online using the philosophy for children Hawai‘i approach to facilitate their inquiry.
ULS was grateful to be included in this exciting exchange provided by the Davis Democracy Initiative at Punahou School, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa College of Education, and the Hanahau’oli School Professional Development Center, with funding by the Wolff Social Justice in Education Project.
