February 6, 2025- We were glad to welcome Chiba University students during their recent study aboard trip to Hawaii! Our ULS students learned about unique Japanese cultural customs from the six groups of students who presented their topics in English. Selected students in 8th and 10th grade learned about Japanese vending machines, origami, Japan’s seasonal activities and more. After the Chiba University student presentations, two ULS students in our Japanese class presented interesting facts about Hawaiian culture in Japanese. Their presentation described native Hawaiian fish, shave ice, and Pele the Volcano goddess.
Mahalo Chiba University for sharing your culture with us!
