The Global Leadership elective is a course that students are encouraged to get involved, recognize their skills to make a positive impact as a youth leader and global citizen. Students are encouraged to “Think Global and Act Local.”
Junior student-athlete Charlie F, and his group proposed to do a saran wrap mural on campus to build awareness on keeping our campus beautiful.
In the art world this is called Cellograff, which involves wrapping and stretching sheets of cellophane (saran wrap) around trees and poles to create a makeshift canvas. This allows a street artist to express him/herself to his/her heart’s content without breaking any laws.
Charlie has experience doing this type of art with 808 Urban on multiple murals and has completed three solo murals at his previous school.
The time is right for everyone to pay it forward and make efforts and “DO YOUR DUTY TO KEEP BEAUTY IN OUR SCHOOL!”
One opportunity for our school community to take care of our school will be a Campus Beautification day on February 6, 2016. Come and help out! More information available on our school website: http://universitylaboratoryschool.org/mpb-painting-project-and-hi-5-recycling-522015/
