Results for 2018 Hawaii Regional of the National Scholastic Art Exhibition
Judging for the 2018 Hawaii Regional of the National Scholastic Art Exhibition was completed on January 17 and it was a very good showing by our ULS students. 95 students representing all the disciplines of the ULS Art Program (grades 7-12) participated in this very competitive statewide competition, and 20 pieces were selected.
The 2018 Hawaii Regional Scholastic Art Awards showcases the exemplary artwork and talent of Hawaii’s students grades 7-12. This year, 997 students artists submitted over 1,500 artworks for jurors to consider. After much deliberation, 233 artworks were selected for the Hawaii regional Scholastic Art Awards exhibition.
Congratulations to all our students and teachers for the outstanding quality of the art work entered.
The artwork of 20 students was selected into the exhibition (ULS accounts for almost 10% of the show). This is a breakdown of awards received by ULS students:

The Opening Reception and Awards Presentation of the 2018 Hawaii Regional of the National Scholastic Art Exhibit will be held on Saturday, March 17 from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at the Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM). The artwork will be exhibited from February 16 through April 13, 2018. Please see the exhibit, –it’s a great educational opportunity to see an overview of the artwork produced in the schools (public, charter, and private) throughout the state, and it’s a great chance to see and support the work of our students!
